Congratulations to Simms Firm Attorneys Stephanie Duran and Jonathan Simms for securing a not guilty verdict after a 4 day jury trial in Fairfax County Circuit Court. The client was charged with two counts of sexual object penetration. During the trial, Attorney Duran and Simms broke down the prosecution’s case by exposing over a dozen inconsistencies in the alleged victim’s version of events. Text messages, medical records, and a mental health expert were all used as part of a successful defense strategy. Medical records and experts were used to show that the source of blood was not from a violent attack. The jury acquitted the client of all charges after less than one day of deliberations. The not guilty verdict was returned on April 21, 2017.
