Managing Partner Jonathan Simms, along with attorneys from Sidley Austin, LLP, will be appearing before the U.S. Court of Appeals on May 11, 2017, to present oral argument in support of an appeal that was filed on behalf of a client in a Wire Fraud matter. The case involved witnesses who testified about being swindled of out hundreds of thousands of dollars by a lottery scam scheme which involved international money transfers. The appeal is based on several legal issues including a claim of error with respect to a deliberate ignorance/willful blindness jury instruction.
