James W. Rice, Jr., Esq. – Associate Attorney

Attorney James W. Rice, Jr. is a criminal defense lawyer helping clients accused of crimes in state and federal court. Attorney Rice has experience handling hundreds of criminal and traffic cases across Northern Virginia.

Attorney Rice is a magna cum laude graduate of Mississippi College School of Law where he attended on a full-tuition scholarship. During law school James served as an intern with the Office of the State Treasurer and as a teaching assistant in civil procedure. As a member of the school’s Moot Court Board, he competed in moot court appellate competitions, placing as a quarterfinalist at the 2012 National Veterans Law Moot Court Competition and a finalist in the 2012 Mississippi Workers Compensation Competition. He was also a student coach to the quarterfinalist team at the 2012 Vale Corporate Law Competition. James received degrees in Philosophy and Business Administration from Millsaps College.

Before joining the Simms Firm, attorney Rice represented clients in criminal defense, estate planning, and residential real estate matters.

James grew up in Vienna, Va. and attended James Madison High School. He currently lives in Fairfax, Va.
